Lovelies, this is the best thing my husband and I ate on Sunday – darkest chocolate gelato – creamy, fudge-like, dense. Bittersweet.
I’d love to hear about the most delicious thing you ate and adored this weekend. What was it?

Hi,
I ate nothing… Because of the morning sickness, nothing appeals to me. Just some khichdi. That is what I ate, and I’m sure it is nothing compared to the chocolate gelato.
Enjoy!
@Mehr Mum’s food – nothing can beat it! I made a prawn biryani this weekend 🙂
@Sana Oh my – seems you are expecting – many congrats and best wishes!
Lovely South Indian chicken with yogurt. Cardamomy and velvety. But much better was my 8 months old granddaughter, back from vacation.
@Geke That truly is the best thing – how darling.
the best thing i ate this weekend, and actually the best thing i’ve eaten in a LOOOOOONG time, was an amazing bruschetta made with crisp baguette, fig jam, creamy burrata cheese, and topped with arugula. amazing blend of crunchiness, sweetness, creaminess, and spiciness. i could eat this every day!
@Suman Figs are one of my favourite fruits – that sounds amazing.
@Huma This is on my DC restaurant list now, thank you. Sounds delicious.
The scallops and the smoked ricotta crostini at Red Hen.
Has to be mum’s recipe gulab jamun I made couple days back. But apart from that some kebabs from my local joint with arabic khabus. your gelato looks sinful!
@Kulsum Mum’s recipes – the best, right? Now you are making me think of tea time – kebabs with chai. The gelato was made from pure chocolate. Fab! x s
Parmesan chicken that I baked for iftari spring rolls for the first time this ramadan.. And good old lasagne.. Hard to choose one!
@Samia Thank sounds lovely – wishing you Eid Mubarik in advance.
We have to go to Red Hen when you’re in town — amazing wine selection, great food, nomnomnom.
where is this gelato from ? is it the best in town ?
@Sarfaraz This is from ‘Gelato’ in Yorkville – yes, it is definitely one of the best places for pure, dark chocolate gelato; I cannot vouch for the other flavours though. This flavour has no colourings, additives or preservatives. Having said that, I am sure others have their own favourites.
Useful information. Lucky me I found your website unintentionally,
and I’m surprised why this accident didn’t came about
in advance! I bookmarked it.
