A Spice Spoon Short Film and New Website Coming Soon!

Spice Spoon Film

Hello, lovelies! Please accept my apologies for not blogging regularly as of recent, but it’s all for a very valid reason, I promise you. The thing is, I have been working on a couple of very exciting, new projects.

I have been planning all of this for the past six months and now, all of it is slowly coming to fruition.

First, I worked on a Spice Spoon short film with the extremely talented Canova Media film production house.

The short film is a little secret for now, but you will be able to view it on my new website (yes, a new website, too!) in October.

I’ll post a launch date within the next week. I was lucky to work with a team that had the same artistic vision as mine. They are such perfectionists that after the first cut, there were hardly any additional post-production edits required. The concept of the film and the subtle messaging it comes with, was the brainchild of S. Brent Martin, the man behind Canova Media. And Nadia Tan is the genius behind the camera – you’ll see it all very soon! I shall write more about this once the short film is released. You only have to see the short film to understand what an utterly brilliant team I worked with.

Here is a photo of me with the supertalented producer and director – S. Brent Martin and Nadia Tan.

Spice Spoon Redesign

And second, as I just mentioned, I am launching a redesigned and rebranded website!

I worked with the fabulous Nina Randone – my dream designer. I spent weeks and weeks looking for a graphic designer who had the same aesthetic as I did, and Nina was the person whom I chose, so I approached her. Lucky for me, she said yes. We have been working together on my branding identity and web design since June, and the website is now in production phase. Nina and I worked very closely together to create what I wanted to be a reflection of my Spice Spoon brand. Her intricate and minimalistic designs are gorgeous, so I can’t wait to share it with all of you very soon!

I also worked with Erik Putz on portraits for my new website. Erik is a photographer whom I have admired for years because he can photograph the simplest of things and make them look beautiful. The philosophy behind my new website and rebranding project is simplicity and elegance – less is more. Erik was the perfect person to work with as our artistic visions were aligned. You’ll see the portraits in the new website very soon – as well as some food photos. For now, you can see some of Erik’s work in the collage in this post. Erik is also a food photographer by profession, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed working with him.

I look forward to welcoming all of you to my new website. x shayma
