My Interview with Labels e-Magazine in Pakistan

Shayma Saadat Labels e-Magazine

Hello, lovelies. The amazing Sanam Lakhani contacted me for an interview for a magazine she writes for, Labels e-Magazine in Pakistan. Sanam is herself a very accomplished chef with a diploma from the very prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in London. It was a privilege to be interviewed by her. This magazine is planning to do a few features which highlight culinary work being done by Pakistanis around the world. I look forward to reading about other Pakistani cooks in the next few issues of this magazine.

For now, I hope you enjoy my interview in the September 2013 issue!

There are some letters in between words (example ‘fngers’) which are missing in the interview (they seem like typos) – this is a glitch with the PDF conversion – I shall upload a new file in the next few days. Here is the link to the feature.

  1. Such a beautiful interview Shayma. I adore the fact that your mother kept cardamom pods in her purse for breath freshener, how divine! I love all of your recipes and hope one day, your cookbook will grace my bookshelves. Llove and light, Imen xx

    • @Imen Thank you so much, you know that I feel the same way about you. I’ll be eating my fingers again – after making one of your luscious cheesecakes from your book, inshallah, as we say x

  2. Congratulations Shayma 🙂 The article was a delight to read ….its true you do have it all beauty, brains and a gift with words!

You do really touch a cord with your writing …and the lobster tail pasta looks divine it is lovely when you can entertain without slaving in the kitchen and still end up with something that looks so elegant!
    Keep it up!

  3. A lovely read that has made my mouth water. We need a cookbook!

  4. What a lovely interview.. you had me at the cardamom!! In the age of mints.. I thought I was the only one who carried cardamom in my special enamel box!! It never fails to amuse my friends!! :))

  5. Sadia Malik says:

    Hi Shayma.

Found out about your blog through a friend, very impressive and love the tag line “cooking without border” as I strongly believe that we have s tendency of focusing on differences rather than similarities…. Ur recipes brought back the memories of my homeland, Pakistan and family, which unfortunately, I had to leave in not very pleasant circumstances! It’s amazing what you have achieved, as being from Lahore myself, which is a very culturally rich city and Lahories as they are known as food lovers, will definitely try ur recipes, which absolutely look amazing…..

  6. Thank you Shayma and Sanam for a brilliant and mouth watering interview for our Labels eMagazine. We are thrilled by the response.
